[NEWS] Mike Ashley sells out Newcastle fans for Sports Direct Arena deal

Mike Ashley has once again created controversy amongst himself and the entire football world by signing a new £10m deal with sports company Sports Direct and will eradicate the 120 years of Newcastle history and sell the rights to the name St James’ Park and change into the rather dull “Sports Direct Arena”.

However, it has been made aware that the club needed the money for players and funds and Derek Llambias stated “I would hope it would generate between £8million and 10million a year. That would give us another player.”

At least with this news, this will allow for extra funds to come for high-riding Newcastle, who are currently 3rd in the Barclays Premier League after an impressive run of form. Alan Pardew is still the man in charge of the Magpies.

Below is a visualisation to how the Sports Direct Arena will look:

NEWS: Twittbook? Faceter? Twitter and Facebook are set to join forces.

Users of the social network site Facebook may be able to update their thoughts and what they’re doing at the same time. The initial idea is linking your Facebook account directly with a Twitter account.

Facebook said that the linking was coming “soon” but gave no specific date.

This all began when Facebook introduced the “subscribe” button, which will basically be like a “follow” button on Twitter. Once a user has subscribed to a profile or a group on Facebook, they will get all the latest news and updates, directly and as soon as possible. This all started when Twitter made it a lot easier for tweets to be sent to your Facebook account.

Since then, Facebook felt that this may mean that they would lose users, who may join Twitter, so therefore they introduced this new feature.

Overall, this seems to be a response to Google+, the new social networking site which ultimately makes it easier to share your statuses anywhere, at any time.

REVIEW: FIFA 12 Demo

Kick off!

You might have read my Preview on the FIFA 12 Demo that I wrote a few days ago. Well, since then, I’ve played the demo, tried out the new features and searched for glitches. I’ve got a lot on my mind about this demo that I need to get off my chest.

First of all, the physicality of the game is incredible; the way in which you slide across the ground and actually tackle a player with contact is beautiful. On a number of occasions, after making a stomach-churning tackle, I would go on the instant replay option and see it all again, but in finer detail. I advise you try this out, so you can see exactly how well EA have done.

Another thing which has impressed me is the tactical defending. Although there are some players who are complaining with the difficulty that comes with the tactical defending, it creates a new realism and edge to the game. It may take some players longer to adjust to the new features than others. You do actually have the option of turning the tactical defending ‘off’ in the settings. I won’t be doing this any time soon.

One thing I don’t like about the demo is the little cut-scene before each game. Obviously trying to emulate real life games where as they would show highlights between the two teams in previous games, here, it just looks cheap and tacky.

TEAMS:

Although none of the team’s ratings are official yet, according to EA, the demo does give us inkling to what they’re going to be roughly. To be honest, I think there are a few players which have been poorly rated by EA, and deserve higher and even lower ratings. Arsenal’s goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny and Midfielder Aaron Ramsey are two key examples of this. Szczęsny has been rated 78, whereas Ramsey has been rated 77. They are both key players in the Arsenal squad and will be featured a lot in Arsenal’s upcoming season.   Also, I pray that Szczęsny gets a virtual face in the game, as this to me would be a letdown. According to the demo, Lionel Messi’s rating will be 95, which is pretty barbarous as this leaves no room for an “in form” player card for the Ultimate Team mode. Like I said, no ratings from the demo are official yet, and you have to aslo consider the fact that the demo has been out for several months now and has been played at several games conventions.

Overall, I think the rest of the demo is absolutely fantastic! It’s slicker, quicker, swifter, and generally better. I look forward to the full version of the game being released on the 30th of September.

Are there any players that you hope go up/down in ratings in the full version of the game? Leave your ideas in the comment section by the side of the post, and make sure to share and like my post!

Thanks for reading.

PREVIEW: FIFA 12 Demo

This marks the next chapter in gamer’s lives, where they will play countless amounts of matches, purely for the sheer enjoyment of a “new game”. I personally cannot wait for the release of the game, let alone the demo. It’s great being able to test out some of the new features that FIFA12 has to offer such as more precise dribbling, improved defensive-ness, and more physicality. In the trailers, the dribbling looks to have advanced immensely but what I think will be interesting to see is how the defending and physicality work along each other. Will this make it easier for a player to defend, or to attack?

One thing that I hope EA fixes is the servers. Countless amounts of times, I’ve screamed in agony when my screen has been filled by the message “The EA Server are currently unavailable, please try again later”. If I had pulled out an individual hair for each time this has happened in FIFA 11 since its release, I’d be bald.

Another thing that EA have looked to work on is Manchester United’s star striker Wayne Rooney’s ‘new’ hairline in the game. Being one of the two players on the cover of the game, you would need an accurate virtual pro. As you can see below, they have done fantastically.

Notice the difference in definition on his hairline.

On the other side of the cover, Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere, who last year had the same ‘game face’ as every other young player on FIFA. Below is the virtual face of Wilshere.

Although this looks bizarre now, this should look great in the game.

All I can say is, I’m extremely excited for the release of this game, and I’m literally counting down the days.

What are you all most looking forward to? Leave a comment, like this post and share please! One more time, here’s the trailer for FIFA12.

NEWS: Lil Wayne smashes iTunes record!

Lil Wayne has created a new iTunes sales record with his highly anticipated album ‘Tha Carter IV’, which was his tenth studio album. The American rapper’s album made approximately 964,000 sales within the first week, which ‘easily broke’ the previous record by making around 137700 sales a day, 5740 sales an hour, 239 sales a minute and around 4 sales a second! Unbelievable. It’s a fantastic comeback for Lil Wayne who earlier last year, was arrested for possession of a firearm. He was released after eight months for good behaviour.

His manager Birdman, co-founder of Cash Money Records, said: “We work for the people and we appreciate the love they give us back”.

This isn’t the only record that Lil Wayne has beaten. The rapper claimed the ‘Most likes on a post on facebook within 24 hours’ with 588,243 likes, easily trumping OREO’s attempt the day before, which gained 114,619 likes. I’m sure the biscuit company was still proud for It’s ‘brief’ record claim.

Let’s hope for more from Lil Wayne in the near future, as I’m certain that he’ll deliver something big within the next two years. Until then, let’s enjoy his new ‘record smashing’ album, Tha Carter IV, enjoy…

NEWS: Arnie did say “I’ll Be Back” and he wasn’t Lying!

Arnold Schwarzenegger as the governor of California

Arnold Schwarzenegger has delighted sci-fi nerds and general action film junkies by agreeing  to star in the fifth instalment in the Terminator film series. The film itself is actually being sold as part of a franchise deal, meaning everything that is and was “Terminator” is being sold. It was said that if the film does have the former governor of California, who is now astonishingly 64 years old, then the film would be a definite go ahead. Despite being away from Hollywood for 9 years, Arnie will also juggle other films. One of which is “The Last Stand” in which he plays a border town sheriff who must take on the leader of a Mexican gang and the other being Antoine Fuqua’s “The Tomb” a thriller about a structural security expert who is framed for a crime he didn’t do and is put in a high-security prison that he designed himself. All three of the films sound promising, and I hope to see Arnie our screens soon.

Arnold Schwarzenegger as "The Terminator"

It’s amazing that Arnie has denied claims that he is too old to be and Action man once again, and wants to prove the critics wrong! It would be interesting to see if the Austrian ex-bodybuilder still has it in him to be an action hero, alas, only time will tell. Watch this space!
